Steven Schaeffer, is a recent addition to the team at Pohl Consulting and Training, which provides a wide range of regulatory and compliance services involving wealth management to banks, registered investment advisors and broker dealers.
Steven offers clients the benefit of more than 30 years of experience in managing bank-owned trust and wealth management organizations, specializing in money management, farm and ranch management and administration of South Dakota trusts for wealthy families from around the nation. Steven most recently managed Dacotah Bank Trust and Wealth Management of Aberdeen, South Dakota for more than 21 years.
Steven offers expertise on: estate planning concepts, tools and techniques; planned giving tools and techniques; business development/rainmaking; compliance and regulatory management; delegation and specialization.
Over the years, Steven conducted numerous speaking engagements and presentations from foundation boards to seminars and conferences of more than 200 participants.
Steven earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
In his spare time, Steven enjoys time with his beautiful Wife, LaVonne, and 13 grandchildren, travel, hunting, fishing, tennis, pickle ball, golf, hockey, raising animals [bison, pheasants, horses] and walks at sunset.
