Michael Dixon

Director, Organizational Development

Michael Dixon has worked with financial services organizations as a consultant and organizational development specialist for more than 25 years, including more than a decade as Director of Organizational Development at Pohl Consulting and Training. His work focuses on helping bank trust departments, wealth management groups, RIAs, and broker dealers improve sales performance, operational efficiency, and profitability.

At Pohl, he has completed more than 75 full organizational assessments for organizations with $100 million AUM to $4 billion under management. These projects range from providing a strategic and technology platform assessment and replacement project for a Community Bank trust department with 1.3 billion under management to helping an organization with $250 million under management successfully secure a charter and launch a business in their preferred jurisdiction (South Dakota).

Michael’s background combines direct practitioner experience with consulting depth. Before returning to full-time consulting, he served as Executive Vice President at Salisbury Bank and Trust, where he held responsibility for Wealth Advisory Services and bank-wide business development and marketing. That operating experience — managing a wealth management group, building sales teams, and driving both top- and bottom-line results — informs the practical, implementation-focused approach he brings to client engagements.

At Pohl Consulting and Training, Michael’s work spans:

  • Organizational assessment and action planning for growth and profitability
  • Sales culture development and relationship sales training for wealth management and commercial banking teams
  • CRM implementation and sales tracking infrastructure
  • Change management across trust, brokerage, insurance, and RIA platforms
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and integration consulting for financial services organizations
  • Business valuation and strategic analysis on both buy and sell sides
  • Sales and marketing strategy by account type and market segment
  • Performance measurement using industry-standard metrics and benchmarks

Michael presents at multiple industry and association events annually, speaking on topics related to sales, service, and technology use.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Dallas.
