Mary Kocher brings a rare combination of regulatory examination experience and trust operations leadership to her consulting work at Pohl Consulting and Training. As a former Senior Risk Management Specialist and Senior Community and Regional Specialty Bank Examiner at the 7th District Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, she spent more than seven years evaluating trust departments and wealth management organizations from the examiner’s perspective, understanding precisely what regulators look for, how they assess compliance programs, and what findings look like before they appear in an examination report.
That examiner background is directly applied in her consulting work. Mary helps trust departments and trust companies prepare for examinations, respond to findings, and build compliance programs that hold up under regulatory scrutiny. Her work at Pohl Consulting and Training includes:
Before her Federal Reserve career, Mary served as a Senior Trust Officer at First Commonwealth Bank, PA and Wachovia Bank, PA, giving her practitioner-level experience in trust administration, fiduciary operations, and client relationship management from the inside of a trust department. That combination — operating experience followed by examination experience — gives her an unusually complete view of how trust compliance programs function in practice versus how they are evaluated by regulators.
Mary holds a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Moravian University. Her professional designations include Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS), Cannon Certified Corporate Trust Specialist (CCTS) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
